Squarespace

Connect Squarespace to your Workspace to track and fulfill orders, keep stock levels right, look up customers, and reconcile payments. You can also start a workflow whenever an order is placed or changes.

What Luo can do

  • Website: the connected site’s title, URL, currency, time zone, and language
  • Orders: list orders by date, customer, fulfillment status, or payment state, and see an order’s line items, addresses, totals, discounts, and shipments
  • Fulfillment: mark an order fulfilled, add shipments with carrier and tracking number, and optionally email the customer
  • Products: products of every type (physical, service, gift card, digital) with their variants, prices, sale prices, stock, and images
  • Inventory: current stock for each variant. Add or remove stock, set an exact quantity, or mark a variant as unlimited.
  • Contacts: customers, mailing-list subscribers, and donors. Search by name or email, filter by marketing consent, and sort by order count or amount spent.
  • Transactions: payments, refunds, processing fees, taxes, and discounts for each order and donation

Start workflows from orders

Squarespace can trigger a workflow:

  • Order created: each time an order is placed on your store
  • Order updated: when an order is fulfilled, refunded, canceled, marked pending, or its email address changes

The workflow receives the order ID and reads the order’s details from there. An order paid with a payment plan triggers Order created only once it is fully paid.

What Luo can’t do

  • Create, edit, or delete products, discounts, or contacts
  • Create orders or issue refunds
  • Read form submissions. Squarespace doesn’t make them available to apps.

Confirming changes

Luo asks you to confirm before it fulfills an order or changes stock. The confirmation shows the order number and customer, or each product’s current stock. You can choose to always approve it for that order or those products.

How to connect

You need to be the owner or an administrator of the Squarespace website. Squarespace’s API needs no particular plan.

  1. Open your workspace in Luo, go to Settings → Integrations, and click Add Integration.
  2. Select Squarespace.
  3. Choose to connect as a user integration (your personal connection) or a workspace integration (shared across members).
  4. Sign in to Squarespace if asked. Pick the website to connect, then click Allow.
  5. You return to Luo with the integration connected. The connection shows the website’s title.

Each connection is for one website. To work with several sites, connect Squarespace once for each.

No website to choose? Squarespace only lists sites your account owns or administers. If you see an error that no website is connected to your account, create or open the site in Squarespace first, then connect again.

Good to know

  • Amounts are in normal currency units. A price of $49.99 is 49.99, not 4999.
  • Order lists leave out some payment states by default. Pending, failed, and partially paid (payment plan) orders appear only when you ask for them.
  • Stock can’t go below zero. Removing more units than a product has fails. Adding or removing stock on a variant marked unlimited also fails. Set an exact quantity instead.
  • Squarespace limits apps to 300 requests per minute. If a large job hits the limit, Squarespace pauses requests for a minute.
  • A connection unused for 7 days needs to be reconnected. Squarespace’s access expires if Luo makes no requests with it for a week. Reconnect Squarespace under Settings → Integrations to continue.

Privacy and data handling

Luo asks Squarespace for exactly this access:

  • orders: read and fulfill
  • inventory: read and update stock
  • products, transactions, and contacts: read only

Data flowing through Luo is governed by Luo’s security and privacy practices.

To revoke access, remove Luo from your site’s connected extensions in Squarespace. This stops Luo’s access at once, and any Squarespace triggers stop firing.
