GitHub
Connect GitHub to your Workspace to triage issues, open and merge pull requests, browse code, and commit file changes — all in the repositories you choose.
What Luo can do
- Repositories — list your repositories, look up a repository, and search public and private repositories with GitHub’s search syntax
- Issues — list issues (filtered by state or label), read an issue, create issues, and update their title, description, state, assignees, and labels
- Pull requests — list and read pull requests, open new ones, update their title, description, state, or base branch, and merge them (merge, squash, or rebase)
- Comments — comment on issues and pull requests
- Branches — list branches and create a new branch from any branch, tag, or commit
- Commits — list commits on a branch, filtered by file path or author
- Files — browse folders, read files, and create or update a file with a commit
Luo asks for your confirmation before it creates or updates an issue or pull request, posts a comment, merges a pull request, creates a branch, or commits a file. You can choose to always allow an action for a specific repository.
What Luo can’t do
Luo can’t delete repositories, branches, or files, and can’t approve or request changes on pull requests. It can’t read existing comments or pull request diffs, and doesn’t work with GitHub Actions, releases, or project boards.
How to connect
- Open your workspace in Luo, go to Settings → Integrations, and click Add Integration.
- Select GitHub. You’re taken to GitHub to install the Luo app.
- Choose where to install it — your personal account or an organization.
- Choose All repositories or Only select repositories, then confirm.
Luo only sees the repositories you include here, and only those your own GitHub account can access. To add or remove repositories later, open Settings → Applications → Installed GitHub Apps on GitHub and click Configure next to the Luo app.
Good to know
- Organization installs may need an owner. If you aren’t an owner of the organization, GitHub sends your install request to the organization’s owners to approve.
- Merges follow your branch rules. A merge fails if the pull request has conflicts or required status checks haven’t passed — Luo won’t bypass branch protection.
- Large files can’t be read inline. Files over 1 MB come back as a download link instead of their contents.
